Wow, I never thought that I would ever get this thing anywhere near finished. This is what you get when you spend four months working at something for 15 minutes one week and 20 the next. I've tried to go as simple as possible but as with most things it started out simple and then exploded somewhere near the end. You will notice that the pictures from my travels are temporarily gone. I will slowly be uploading them to my flickr account - but you will still be able to get at them from this site. Unfortunately they won't (for now) be linked to their original posts.
Other things:
- this site is definitely only 80% done. There is lots of stuff to do. Not the least is the archive page which is terrible.
- I am sure that there are lots of busted things. E-mail me or post a comment here and I will try to fix them.
- I will update MORE frequently. I have lots of posts ready to go but I wanted to finish (or half finish) version 2.0
- I am sure that you will all notice where I have stolen all my layout and design (and colour?) ideas from. Thanks Jeff.

Dang man it looks great and is hardly "stolen" at all. In fact it's a very smart integration of your original look and feel with much-improved usability and some great new features and functionality. This way people still recognize your site and aren't thrown off. And it looks and acts the same in FF and IE (on WinXP anyways): no small task, that.
I'm totally going to steal your .pictures section idea (i.e. inserting Flickr sets).
Only major note for now: recommend increasing the leading (i.e. line spacing, i.e. line-height in CSS) to something like 1.4 or 1.6em for paragraph text. A little breathing room between lines can really improve readability.

Oh ya, wanted to say how cool the links to recent friend's entries on your main page is. Good work. I will steal look into doing that, too.

Damn, a refreshing new look. And about borrowing ideas, I am afraid in a few weeks I will also be throwing up a website. And like you, it too will incorporate some of Jeff's website ideas. But really, who can help it; they are damn good ideas.
